Heritage Face Brick

This is a classic style and size of brick that has been used in our geographic area for many decades (“Ontario” size). It is a solid, smooth faced brick that comes in 5 colours, where the pigments are evenly distributed throughout the entire brick, not just the surface, thus holding their colour year after year.

Concrete Blocks

All standard blocks are manufactured to C.S.A. Standard A165.1-04. The strength of all units meets or exceeds the CSA A165.1-04 of 15.0MPa, and as proud members of the Canadian Concrete Masonry Producers Association (CCMPA) we follow the strict guidelines agreed to as an organization, some of which are, to promote research and development, and assist in the marketing and training aspects within the industry, as well as to educate the general public about what is safer – block or drywall. For more shapes and sizes, please contact our office at 905-727-1311

Hi-Strength Concrete Blocks

Just like regular concrete masonry units, these blocks are produced to the CSA Standard A165.1-04, however their strengths are much greater than the minimum that is the CSA requirement. Architect specifications often ask for higher concrete strengths in their designs. We are able to provide these higher strengths through special mix designs, on an as per needed basis. The higher strengths vary from 20MPa to 35MPa, in 5MPa increments, and are clearly marked on the block with a bolt marking, in the following manner: 15 MPa – no bolt marks 20 MPa – 1 bolt mark 25 MPa – 2 bolt marks 30 MPa – 3 bolt marks 35 MPa – 4 bolt marks

Lightweight Concrete Blocks

Lightweight Block is produced from blast-furnace slag, a recyclable material from the steel manufacturing process, and offers the same reliable performance and benefits as medium weight block while enhancing several key properties including:

  • Improved Mason Productivity and Morale: lighter concrete block means walls go up faster and projects are completed sooner with fewer possible back injuries to masons and tenders.
  • Increased Energy Savings: lightweight concrete’s resistance to heat flow is twice that of standard concrete, meaning less heating/cooling energy is needed.
  • Superior Fire Ratings: lightweight concrete masonry is thermally stable because light weight aggregate has already been exposed to high temperatures, 2000°F, meaning even higher fire resistance ratings.
  • Faster Construction: lower in wall, square foot costs, because of increased productivity.
  • Increases Bricklayer Longevity: By lifting less weight every day a mason’s career is often extended
Lightweight block also conforms to the CSA Standard A165.1-04 and can be produced in high-strength variations just as standard masonry units are. These specialized units are often the choice of architects when designing schools, theatres, retirement homes or churches, really wherever higher fire-ratings are desired.

Artisan Wall

This is a unique wall unit that is primarily used as a Segmental Retaining Wall (SRW) Unit. It is a unit that is designed to create rugged looking natural stone walls up to 30 feet in height – engineered wall systems. However, because of its strength and durability, it is often used for steps, terraces and small free-standing walls of 3 feet or less. The hollow cores and interlocking mechanism that exists make it easier to install than most other retaining wall systems.
